Job description: In this hands-on role, you will need to possess a broad understanding of technical environments and be capable of driving the organization’s technological progress. Collaboration with software engineering and IT Operations will be required to deploy, operate, and streamline systems efficiently.

Under the guidance of the Manager of IT Operations, you will provide expert-level technical expertise related to Microsoft and Linux server environments. Your responsibilities will include planning, guiding technical installations, maintenance, and operation of computer systems supporting multiple complex applications.

Primary Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high uptime for various systems, including commercial internet product line, web application hosting, business applications, infrastructure, systems integration, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with the IT Operations team to plan and coordinate hardware and software updates, changes, and enhancements, ensuring cost-effective and efficient computer services.
  • Handle inquiries, problems, complaints, or emergencies affecting service availability or quality with a customer-centric approach.
  • Engage with third-party technical support personnel and vendors and stay up-to-date with information technology trends.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of active professional service in a system administration role within a similar environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of networks, servers, cyber security, and telecommunication systems.
  • Experience in automation and scripting with proficiency in core scripting languages, Unix Shell Procedural languages, Unix/Linux, and Windows scripting.
  • Familiarity with clustering and blade server technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization, including technologies such as Hyper-V, VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud technology, Nutanix, or HCI.
  • Experience with SAN and NAS.

Expected salary: $55 – 65 per hour
