Our staff counsel office is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our growing team in either our Plymouth or Boston, Massachusetts, office. This position can be done partially remote.
Position Overview: This position requires the handling of moderate to high exposure liability cases in civil litigation from the inception of the lawsuit until conclusion through dismissal, settlement or trial within Massachusetts. The successful candidate will be required to work with adjusters and clients to resolve claims as expeditiously and efficiently as possible.
This is a full time/exempt
In this role, you will:
- Meets with clients and claims professionals to resolve cases in the most cost effective manner
- Conducts pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations or any other legal activity required
- May independently conduct trials
- Advises claim professionals on the evaluations of legal files
- Provides legal advice to clients and other claim professionals as needed
- Negotiates settlements as directed
- Attends round tables
What you need to apply:
- Experience in automobile and general liability matters, with jury trial experience preferred but not required.
- The ideal candidate will be admitted to the Massachusetts and Connecticut bar.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable MVR and an ability to maintain confidentiality
- Admission to the federal bar is preferred but not required.
- Able to work in a team environment with other attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals and support staff
- Computer literacy, including MS Word, Lexis/Westlaw, and daily management of e-mail and calendar
