Job Summary:

As a Remote Pharmacy Technician, you will provide essential support to the pharmacy team from a remote location, ensuring accurate prescription processing, medication management, and exceptional customer service. Your role involves collaborating with pharmacists, patients, and healthcare professionals while working in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities:

Prescription Processing: Accurately enter prescription and patient information into the pharmacy system, verify insurance coverage, and resolve any discrepancies.

Medication Review: Perform initial medication reviews to identify potential interactions, allergies, and dosing concerns.

Communication: Collaborate with pharmacists, patients, and healthcare providers via phone, email, and digital communication platforms.

Customer Support: Provide outstanding customer service to patients, addressing inquiries, offering medication counseling, and assisting with medication refills.

Medication Dispensing: Accurately fill and process prescriptions, ensuring proper medication, dosage, and labeling.

Medication Adherence: Assist in promoting medication adherence by contacting patients and providing education about proper medication usage.

Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring medication inventory levels, restocking, and ensuring proper storage conditions.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of medication transactions, prescription processing, and patient interactions.

Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards while ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.

Technology Utilization: Use pharmacy software and telehealth technology for prescription processing, medication interactions, and record-keeping.

Assisting Pharmacists: Collaborate with remote pharmacists to ensure accurate and safe medication practices, including double-checking doses and potential interactions.

Health and Safety: Follow proper procedures for handling medications, maintaining data security, and adhering to remote work safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification from an accredited program
  • 2 yrs of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably with remote work experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in prescription processing
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy software and telecommunication tools
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills in virtual environments
  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and medication safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality
