Job description: Position Summary:

Contributes to the efficient operation of Production Departments by providing intermediate to expert skill level in receiving and inventory control resulting in the manufacture of quality products.

Wage Summary:

$20.50 – $24.50

Essential Functions:

  • Learn and practice Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) established for the Receiving / Warehouse and Manufacturing Departments
  • Receive materials from freight companies, inspect materials for damage and report all freight claims.
  • Receive all materials in computer system on the correct purchase order and line item.
  • Process all receiving samples for QA / QC.
  • Maintain required paperwork and logs associated with department.
  • Maintain daily production schedules.
  • Process products using proper procedures, including inventory control and staging correct raw materials,
  • Obtain and maintain a valid forklift license. Provide routine equipment care as needed.
  • Maintain clean machines, equipment, and department.
  • Follow all safety procedures established for department and plant.
  • Communicate with Manufacturing Supervisor, and other departments regarding daily operations.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.

Marginal Functions:

  • Assist with physical inventory or cycle count program.
  • Help out in other departments when operations are slow. Especially the wet granulation and blending departments.
  • Assist with training and orienting new employees.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an organized warehouse area.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision, hearing, and speaking to meet performance standard.
  • Bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity and large motor skills needed to work with the following tools: scoops, screen, scale, mill, blender, and drums.
  • Experience and current ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, up to 10-12 hours per day; lifting up to 100 lbs. with the use of a forklift and pallet jack.

Equipment Used:

Forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, material flow racks, computer, copy machine, blenders, granulation & milling equipment.

Work Environment:

  • May require overtime during peak periods or as business needs dictate.
  • Requires compliance to all department and company Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Requires ability to work in an environment that contains fumes, dust, odors, noise, chemicals, temperature variations, and varying levels of ventilation.
  • Requires team-orientation, common sense and good judgment, professional behavior, effective communication (oral and written), and problem solving skills.
  • Requires ability to take and follow directions, time management skills, organizational development and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • One year Warehouse receiving and inventory control experience preferred.
  • One year forklift experience. Certification must be obtained within 90-day probationary period.
  • Good knowledge of math, including metric weights and measures.
  • Experience with reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending fluent English.
  • Demonstrated reliability and attention to quality.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills.
