We are currently seeking a Proposal Writer/Manager that is ready to work with multiple clients across a wide range of technologies spanning from Artificial Intelligence to Software as a Service and Cloud offerings; and developing proposals and various documents such as whitepapers and marketing materials. Candidate will support both our Public and Private Sector focus, creating and submitting proposals and Statements of Work (SOW) across our Federal, State, Local, Education (SLED), and Commercial market segments.
The Proposal Writer/Manager is responsible for development of accurate, compelling messaging and high-quality content for proposals and other organizational marketing/promotional material. The Proposal Writer/Manager must exhibit strong writing skills to ensure consistency and clarity to meet sales objectives and client needs. This person must ensure all compliance and regulatory restrictions are met. Responsibilities
Support priority bid opportunities for new business pursuits across rockITdata’s Public and Private sectors.
Review RFPs and other job requests and coordinate response with business development and other internal departments.
Supports the business development team in crafting proposals and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses to secure new and retain existing business.
Ability to comprehend and articulate a variety of technical topics and service offerings.
Demonstrate a finely-tuned ability to sift through a discussion, extracting the most significant information and action items.
Participates in win theme strategy development and refinement. Ensures incorporation of strategic themes as well as compliance with proposal and RFP requirements.
Coordinates with leadership team to develop a compliant outline for assigned proposal sections.
Write executive summaries and pursuit materials that articulate our strategic messaging in a compelling and persuasive manner.
Conduct interviews with technical experts to inform responses to client questions.
Capture, shape, and synthesize information to reflect a cohesive message, written in one voice.
Research, write, and organize information in a compelling, professional, and credible manner.
Translate technical information and business jargon into clear, consistent, and grammatically correct content.
Conduct technical edits of volumes to ensure compliance and “one voice.”
Editing and revising content according to feedback.
Maintain consistency with company editorial standards.
Participate in color review process as a reviewer.
Creates, maintains, and utilizes proposal database and previous bids to research content for compliant proposal responses.
Works with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, to facilitate knowledge sharing and improve content development processes.
Engage with pursuit teams strategically, posing questions that encourage a team to consider all aspects of the client’s position, and draw out essential messaging.
Develops ideas and mock-ups of explanatory tables and graphics.
Works with internal teams to create graphics and visuals that simply convey complex ideas, processes, or information.
Collaborate with graphic designers, project managers, pursuit coaches, and client service teams to build creative and innovative material.
Prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Attend bidders’ conferences and keep abreast of new marketing concept development, corporate initiatives and coordinate prospect communications pieces.
Manage internal proposal templates.
Develops a solid understanding of rockITdata programs and technical offerings.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
1 – 3 years of experience in journalism, proposal writing or technical writing.
A quasi-journalistic ability to quickly grasp specialist knowledge and make it clear for external parties.
Intellectual curiosity and ability to “get smart quick” on a wide variety of topics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe tools.
Experience interviewing technical material and subject matter experts to translate technical requirements and approach into compelling and persuasive prose.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask within a fast-paced, challenging, and deadline-driven environment.
Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong Customer focus.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time.
Willingness to develop leadership skills and build an expert team.
Agility and speed in executing strong writing.
Exceptional project management skills.
Travel up to 10% for specific corporate; leadership; and Customer/Conference engagements (Due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.).
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of APMP / Shipley methodologies
Federal and SLED Proposal Experience
