The Biobehavioral Research Division within the Military and Veterans Health Services Operation at Leidos has a need for an Operations Support Specialist.
The individual selected for this position will perform a variety of duties to support the Naval Health Research Center, San Diego, CA, specifically the NHRC Directorate for Administration.
Primary Responsibilities
Specifically, this position includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
Transportation support services
Provide daily oversight of Government vehicles to include routine maintenance** and cleanliness.
Take the vehicles for scheduled/routine and non‐routine maintenance requirements.
File trip tickets, maintenance records and all pertinent reports related to vehicle/transportation management.
Monitor the dispatch of transport equipment to maximize efficiency and cost.
Issue and maintain trip tickets to include the submission of required reports of usage, mileage, and maintenance.
Establish and schedule vehicle maintenance with the motor pool; ensure vehicles are washed and cleaned (including vacuum) at least bi‐monthly and/or as needed.
Ensure property accountability, and submit recommendations for replacement in accordance with life cycle replacement plan.
Provide transportation services when required in support of command mission and needs such as picking up/dropping off supplies and mail.
Ensure fuel tanks for all vehicles are always filled and vehicles are ready for use.
Report unsafe and irresponsible use of government vehicles (GOV) to the Head, Operations Department.
Coordinate and submit for special vehicle requests in support of special NHRC work projects.
Facilities support
Knowledgeable in basic electricity, and handy work. Provide first‐look response to facility issues by assessing customer complaint.
Identify and assess complaints to determine escalation requirements and submit external trouble requests if unable to resolve basic issues.
Update facility manager through the Facilities Trouble ticket system.
Assist with coordinating moves and general labor requirements as requested by the Facilities Manager.
Coordinate with department representatives and movers on the collection and temporary storage of unwanted furniture and equipment.
Coordinate with DRMO and movers for proper turnover of unwanted furniture and equipment.
Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS)
Assist in the receiving of all medical or non‐medical property by entering relevant information in the DMLSS system in accordance with local policies and higher authority guidelines. This includes preparing and entering data into DMLSS to ensure timely accounting of all transactions on medical equipment, specifically, information technology devices to include smartphones, laptops, printers and other accountable property.
Enter system updates, equipment record changes and inventory actions per local policy and BUMED guidelines.
Conduct monthly spot checks and other asset inventories in accordance with local policies and higher authority guidelines.
Warehouse and inventory support
Perform warehouse and material handling work as requested by the Operations and Facilities Managers to include transporting material from receiving to the warehouse or vice versa.
Provide management support of a small inventory of office supplies, and set restocking levels to support departments on their mission requirements.
Ensure sufficient inventory of office supplies to preclude gap or disruption in mission accomplishment. Prepare order/purchase request form for pertinent office supplies as needed.
Develop command supply listing of routine and available products, and develop supply form to facilitate ordering process.
Establish and communicate command order fulfillment policy to establish weekly/routine ordering and delivery pattern.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience identifying activities involving equipment tracking, logistics planning, and equipment management support operations.
US Citizenship required and eligibility for Secret security clearance.
Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to execute a comprehensive equipment management support plan.
Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan.
Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions.
Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in a military environment
Previous DoD background check or clearance
Naval Health West – NHW
Pay Range: Pay Range $42,250.00 – $65,000.00 – $87,750.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
Expected salary: $42250 – 87750 per year
