This position is located at our administration office in NE Portland, OR. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Network Administrator will use broad knowledge to configure, maintain, and monitor network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, wireless access points, etc.) at Cascadia’s more than sixty (60) locations in the Portland metro area. This position will troubleshoot and fix network related issues and problems. Must have a working knowledge of data communications systems, internet and telecommunication protocols, SD-WAN, remote access systems, hardware systems, routers, switches, firewall, VOIP (Teams Voice), cloud-based solutions (Azure), etc. Will coordinate projects and train staff on newly implemented systems. Additionally, this position will be responsible for providing backup services to the network engineer. Essential Duties

  • Monitors and maintains network availability, performance, and security.
  • Analyzes, installs, configures, integrates, and maintains network systems software, and hardware.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, and optimizes performance of network systems.
  • Assists users and technical staff with comprehensive technical support.
  • Provide training on new services.
  • Coordinate projects
  • Provide on-site and remote assistance for network incidents and service requests.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting steps and ensure that all relevant information is documented in the ticket.
  • Create and maintain network documentation.
  • Work closely with other members of the Infrastructure team on complex issues that require coordination.
  • Support new technology initiatives through product testing, software testing, and evaluation.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

  • Complete professional development activities required to maintain certifications
  • Regularly attend department and team meetings
  • May support other members of the infrastructure team (systems, security, or endpoint).

Required Education & Experience

Highschool diploma.

Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s or associates degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field or a combination of work experience beyond the 5 years minimum that demonstrates an ability to perform the essential duties of the position.

Certifications in Net+, CCNA, Security+ or comparable preferred

Preferred Experience

Experience working in a healthcare environment

Experience in network administration

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Knowledge of ITIL best-practices
  • Knowledge of CIS Critical Controls cybersecurity framework
  • Knowledge of configuring firewalls (Policies, NAT, SD-WAN, DHCP, application control, web filtering, routing, and traffic shaping)
  • Knowledge of point-to-site VPNs
  • Knowledge of configuring switches/wireless access points (VLANs, 802.1x, Private VLANs, Spanning Tree, PoE)
  • Knowledge of networking services (DHCP, DNS, NTP, SFTP, NPS)

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office environment at Cascadia’s administrative office during typical business hours Monday Friday. This position may occasionally need to work nights and weekends. This position is authorized for hybrid work.
