Air Squared Manufacturing, Inc. is an OEM manufacturer of scroll type compressors, vacuum pumps and expanders for the medical, aerospace, fuel cell and power generation industries. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Lead to support the development and implementation of continuous improvement manufacturing processes to maintain product quality as well as cost efficiencies. The Manufacturing Engineering Lead will provide leadership to the Manufacturing Engineering team in the implementation of these processes and will report to the Operations Manager.
Manufacturing Engineering Lead Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes while working to control processes of new product
- Guide new product introductions to manufacturing
- Improve manufacturing efficiency using lean manufacturing concepts
- Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layouts
- Assure product and process quality by developing testing methods; testing finished products and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
- Guide the creation of standard work and manufacturing documentation
- Provide technical troubleshooting support to manufacturing
- Participate in the MRB team to evaluate discrepant materials and identify improvement opportunities
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by developing manufacturing data gathering tools, calculating production costs, and calculating process capacity limits
- Support manufacturing growth through the evolution of manufacturing processes to meet changing takt times.
- Evaluates, advises, and implements engineering design changes
- Prepares product and process reports
- Keeps equipment operational by defining requirements for maintenance programs
- Manage subordinates in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
- Ensures that department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
- Facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and / or Six Sigma activities.
Manufacturing Engineering Qualifications:
- MUST SUBMIT RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (required)
- SolidWorks proficiency (required)
- Experience in manufacturing process development, improvement, and support. 5+ years preferred; 3 years required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering or project teams
- Experience designing, building, troubleshooting, and maintaining production machinery.
- Familiarity working within and supporting a quality system such as ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, or other industry related quality system.
- Experience with medium to high volume manufacturing
- Experience with new product introductions and process development, including process flow mapping, PFMEA, control plans, etc
- Knowledge of root cause analysis methods and demonstrated experience in their application.
- Test equipment and data acquisition software (LabView preferred)
