Job description: Low Voltage Technician – Contract Position with possibility to Direct Hire

About the Company:

The company is a family-owned business that’s been in business for over 25 years that has extensive and well-established in the Communications, Information Technology, Security, and Access Control fields. Clients include military installations, manufacturing plants, large corporations, medium sized organizations, small business, and more. The company is seeking to add a few qualified travling low-voltage systems technicians for a contract position with potential of direct hire with the company.

Experience:

· Access/Security/Low Voltage: 3 years’ work experience. The company provide Security Alarm, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, and Nurse Call services in addition to installation, maintenance, leasing, and monitoring for both federal and commercial customers nationwide.

· 3 years of work experience in structured cabling and data center experience. Ability to understand and effectively explain every aspect of the structured cabling system including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and inter-connections, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry-best practices and the ability to differentiate between them and make recommendations.

· Experience with and ability to diagnose fire alarm system issues and to maintain, adjust repair, and replace a variety of fire alarms and related components.

· Experience developing written work plans, job hazard analysis, and job safety analysis related to the work activities under a permit to work system.

· Possess prior computer experience and be able and willing to learn and effectively utilize computer-based labor, inventory, and maintenance tracking applications.

· MUST be able to hit the ground running, ability to work with minimal supervision.

Skills:

· Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Suite programs

· Excellent time management skills

· Aptitude for problem solving

· Ability to work well independently or in a team environment

· Exhibit a positive attitude

· Ability to workdays, nights and/or weekends when required

· Willingness to be on-call after hours

· Project management skills

· Basic networking

· GSM technology, and interactive apps for DVRs and alarm systems

· Knowledge of current NFPA and fire alarm codes

· Installation of numerous different brands of Security, Fire and Access Control Systems

· Read, write, and understand English

· Able to distinguish color codes

· Good communication

Job Type:

· Contract

· This is a high travel position

Education/Certifications/Training:

(All Certifications/Training Documentation MUST be available.)

· Must have documented work history that is verified through the Federal government

· High school or equivalent (Required)

· NICET Level I/II preferred

· Notifier, Auto-Caller, Simplex Training preferred.

· All around experience in all low-voltage systems
