Job description: POSITION OVERVIEW

The Site Support Tech is responsible for providing professional and efficient desktop support for an enterprise Windows operating system environment, to include mobile devices. A strong customer service mindset is the key to succeeding in this role. The person in this role will assist with the development and standardization of deployment, support, and management processes within Regal Rexnord’s IT client services function, encompassing workstation hardware and software, as well as wireless devices. This person will also play a key role in the continued development of a standard portfolio of services for the IT Support team, and the management of the associated hardware, software, and wireless devices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, implement, and maintain new/improved processes and standard work throughout Regal Rexnord’s global locations.
  • Interacting with Regal Rexnord’s internal user/customers
  • Drive improvement in quality and quantity of documentation for processes and procedures, as well as rolling record of customer interactions in ticketing system.
  • Research and test new technology, hardware and software.
  • Lead and support enterprise desktop initiatives in application and OS rollouts, hardware refreshes, and similar projects.
  • Enter and report technical problems, causes and solutions within the ticket management tool.
  • Troubleshoot issues as 2nd/3rd level support for problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for desktop (both hardware and software) and enterprise applications, local/networking printing, e-mail, connectivity, remote access, and hardware issues.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Minimum four years technical experience in a desktop support/system administration environment; Bachelor’s degree preferred or a combination of other training and experience.
  • Excellent customer service, time management, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a large, complex, maturing desktop environment.
  • Be professional in appearance, attitude, work ethic, and in all customer interactions.
  • Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, LandDesk, Project software applications and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

Capabilities and Success Factors

  • Expert knowledge of large (2000+ client) Microsoft workstation environments, including client side interactions with Active Directory and Exchange.
  • Demonstrated prior experience with large electronic management/deployment tools, such as Microsoft SCCM (preferred) or similar third-party tools.
  • Significant experience is required in driving standardizations across multiple global divisions, and creating robust scalable enterprise-wide solutions and services.
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts and experience with robust incident and change management processes is desirable.
  • Experience with Citrix software or other enterprise-level thin client solutions desired.

Education Requirements:

Associates degree in Information Technology or similar field or 3-5 years of work experience in site management
