Job Description
As a GIS Data Analyst on the Telecom Team, you will work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other team members to identify challenges and provide innovative solutions. Our Telecom Team at Olsson is at the forefront of revolutionizing the telecommunication industry. We constantly think about new solutions and find innovative ways to improve telecommunication planning and design. From deploying cutting-edge technologies to developing efficient infrastructure, our team’s work shapes the future of how communities stay connected.
Using your experience and proficiency as a data analyst with Esri software (ArcGIS Desktop & Pro) and skills with programming languages (Python) and SQL server management, you will review and manipulate data, perform in-depth analysis, and provide compelling visualizations to aid in telecommunication planning and design projects. Your ability to clearly define a problem and select the most appropriate data sets to formulate a solution will be most important.
You may also travel occasionally to job sites for observation, and/or field work, working in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience and certifications.
- Experience with Esri software (ArcGIS Desktop & Pro), Python, and SQL server management, enabling you to manipulate data and provide visualization.
- Experience in GIS, Telecom, Engineering Design, or related fields, gained through work, internships, or academic projects, showcasing your expertise and adaptability.
- Prior experience with geospatial data gathering and analysis, and map and database production is valued and will contribute to the success of our projects.
