Job Duties:
As a Food Service Worker, you will perform a variety of duties in the assembly, delivery and service of patient’s meals. Duties include the cleaning, sanitation and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Assemble meal trays accurately and presentable while working in a fast paced environment.
- Present menus to patients and assist them with menu selections as needed.
- Distribute menus according to diet master list.
- Collect trays after each meal and deliver food cart to the elevators.
- Prepare and deliver snacks to patients.
- Refill expediter refrigerators and cereal cart as needed.
The position is also responsible for developing and maintaining excellent customer skill levels for both internal and external customers while adhering to all safety and sanitation standards as outlined by JCAHO and HACCP as well as full participation as a team member, focusing consistently on the department’s mission to “Meet or Exceed Our Customer’s Expectations.”
Job Qualifications:
Required:
- Able to read and write standard English.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes.
- Knowledge of general and nutrient modified diets.
- Ability to work in standing position for a long period of time; stretch, bend, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and/or wet areas, lift 40 pounds, and push loaded carts weighing 350 pounds.
- Ability to conform to dress code.
- Ability to practice safe food handling techniques; good hygiene.
- Must have the ability to adjust to fluctuating work load and adhere to production schedules.
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, customers, supervisors and managers
