We are seeking a cleared or clearable Electronic Engineering Manager to support the Ohio Xetron Advanced Programs Engineering Manager within Ohio Engineering & Sciences organization. This role splits time between serving as a Section Manager and serving as a Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Lead managing engineering activities on one or more assigned programs.

As a manager and lead you will be providing technical and organizational leadership to a multi-discipline engineering team involved in research, design, implementation, integration, and test of hardware and software products. Engineering disciplines you will manage includes systems, embedded software, FPGA, electronics, RF, mechanical and test. Successful candidates have extensive experience working in one or more of these disciplines and a basic knowledge of others.

Section Manager responsibilities include:

Managing and guiding roughly 15 direct report Engineers across multiple engineering disciplines

Meeting organization objectives

Setting objectives and then monitoring and reviewing yearly progress for your team

Being responsible and accountable for managing the workload of your direct reports

Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring top-ranked engineering talent

Providing timely, constructive support and feedback to your reports on a regular basis

Completing semi-annual performance assessments of your team members

Motivating your team members (engagement) and facilitating regular meetings with them

Providing mentoring and career development to each team member

Coordinating training for each team member

Providing appropriate tools and resources for your team’s activities

Agile Lead responsibilities include:

Leadership of program technical execution in order to meet cost and schedule constraints

Program staffing for optimal execution

Technical direction, guidance, and mentoring of project team members

Working programs, proposals, or internally-funded activities in a technical or leadership role

Risk and opportunity planning and execution

Strategic problem solving

Earned value management

Basic Qualifications:

Demonstrated technical leadership, engineering management, and/or program management experience

Strong communications and interpersonal skills

Bachelors in Engineering or related STEM degree

7 years of engineering experience

US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Top Secret security clearance

Engineering background in Electrical, Digital, or Systems Engineering including deriving hardware and/or software requirements and designing, developing and testing systems

Prior Management/Supervisory experience

Experience in recruiting and developing top engineering talent

Excellent communication skills

Experience in multiple relevant technology areas such as: RF/Digital circuitry, use of hardware test equipment (e.g. signal generators, scopes, analyzers, power meters), data link communications and networks, embedded software

An ability to showcase the company’s capabilities to existing and potential customers to support business development activities

Experience with U.S. Government contracts

Experience managing budgets, examples of process improvement initiatives and experience with program audits

This position offers the option of a 9/80 work schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $130,500.00 – $195,700.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
