Job description: Director, Retail Food and Beverage Operations (On-site Hybrid)

Key Purpose

The Retail Food and Beverage Operations Director is the creative force behind immersive client experiences in spaces outside a typical cafe space in an office environment by developing, delivering, and executing dynamic experiences throughout the client organization. This may include break rooms, snack areas and immersive beverage experiences. The Retail Food and Beverage Operations Director will oversee the strategic development of retail programs and experiences that interface with client’s employees ensuring that they are inspired and energized, making the workplace/environment a coveted destination.

The Retail Food and Beverage Operations Director will partner with a counterpart in the client organization who is responsible for the client’s strategic direction for these spaces. They will collaborate to ensure all ideas and considerations are exhausted to bring the scalable experience to life. The position is expected to enhance the entire journey while visiting our world-class client locations. The role is client facing and must exhibit exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Success Criteria

  • Collaborate with account leadership and client to develop goals, objectives and focus areas to create a leading-edge, transformational workplace
  • Manage implementation, delivery and execution of experience-focused services and liaise with the client’s Retail Food and Beverage team on concepts and best practices
  • Develop a retail, customer focused breakroom and beverage strategy along with the tools and framework to support operations to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Work with Operations, Procurement, Sustainability, and Food Choice Architecture Teams to develop an integrated program that aligns with the Food Program
  • Maintain procurement compliance goals as set by the procurement team
  • Develop a vendor pipeline to support the use of diverse and innovative products into their food spaces and manage the vetting process
  • Develop and maintain a feedback mechanism for Retail Food and Beverage space conversation and innovation
  • Create standardized processes and tools for cost savings and predictability in spend
  • Develop and execute nation-wide initiatives and promotional events
  • Understand, develop and maintain a commissary delivery model for goods
  • Work with the internal design team to guide and direct the build out of spaces and the teams to deliver a retail experience simultaneously across the portfolio
  • Provide meaningful feedback to leadership and Real Estate executives regarding business space utilization and property condition on client projects while influencing design and aesthetics
  • Engage in a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by leveraging business intelligence, adopting and participating in the development of best practices, including new tools and ideas that provide service delivery efficiencies
  • Strong focus on sustainability

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence

  • Collaborate with operations to oversee the hiring, on-boarding and training of the Retail Food and Beverage Managers across all US-based sites.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a highly diverse National team delivering an exceptional curated guest, client and colleague experience that reflects positively upon both the stakeholder and company.
  • Drive client experience standards by supporting and sustaining operational excellence ensuring execution and compliance of contractual deliverables
  • Partner and collaborate with all service streams (Catering, Culinary, Procurement, Sustainability, Choice Architecture, Facilities and Front of House) ensuring timely execution & evolving experience
  • Create and analyze reporting, track trends and inform processes

Ideal Candidate Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing strategy for retail environments and corresponding successful execution
  • Experience developing strategy with a strong sustainability focus
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical/financial aptitude. Ability to gather data, assess situations and quickly develop solutions
  • Track record of initiative, integrity, and good judgment
  • High level of business etiquette and social/situational awareness
  • Highly collaborative and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands & Work Environments

  • Work is performed in a hybrid setting
  • Work up to 8 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
  • Come to work properly dressed according to the dress code.
  • Employee must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
