Job Description
Career Opportunity: Director of Logistics and Operations with Galerie in Hebron, KY.

As the Director of Logistics and Operations, will lead strategy for operations including logistics, production, distribution, quality control, and inventory management with a focus on continuous improvement in processes, workflows, and technology solutions. While being a hands-on leader coaching and developing your management team, you will also design, develop and deliver effective warehouse and logistics strategies around the management of 3PL warehouses, logistics providers, and Trade Custom/Compliance processes to ensure seamless, timely, and cost-effective modes of transportation of goods from international suppliers to the distribution center.
Specific Responsibilities/Accountability:
- Manages the longer-term business planning process and identifies future opportunities.
- Manage production planning and schedules including assembly and packing onsite.
- Drive consensus behind a shared vision of distribution and logistics to continue to build a flexible and sustainable global supply chain.
- Manage complex negotiations with third parties and ensure benefits for the company.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and engage department leaders with actionable analytics and identify key opportunities for savings.
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures and suggests improvements to increase the efficiency and profitability of the company.
- Directs all US distribution activities across multiple channels of distribution (B2B, B2C) to ensure the performance meets company budget expectations and established goals.
- Play a pivotal role to identify system and process improvements to optimize fulfillment operations to online eCommerce platforms and drive efficiency and cost reduction.
- Oversee the review of expense controls and the underlying operations activities while establishing department budgets and goals to meet the overall company objectives.
Qualifications
Additionally, the Director of Logistics and Operations should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) in a business-related field.
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience in logistics, distribution, and operations.
- 5+ years of experience in senior management.
- Extensive experience in international inbound logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
- Strong Excel skills with knowledge of ERP and Reporting systems.
- Strong negotiating and above-average math skills (calculate figures and amounts in relation to percentages, foreign exchange rates, tariffs, and duties in addition to P&L relationships).
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Process-driven and ability to establish overall direction and strategic initiatives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a wide sense of creativity and latitude is expected.
