- The Director of Construction Operations will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely completion of construction projects. This full-time role is for a motivated, responsible, and assertive individual capable of driving success through project delivery, customer satisfaction, and quality control.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure project managers establish and adhere to project, weekly, and daily plans.
- Work with project and construction managers to manage budgets, costs, and quality.
- Assure availability of subcontractors and vendors with proper expertise and tools to enable construction project execution.
- Ensure adequate vehicles, equipment, and tools are available
- Ensure that all construction projects are properly staffed with appropriately trained and skilled professionals to provide the contracted services
- Responsible for overall operational performance and quality outcomes, including client satisfaction
- Establish and maintain relationships and develops a high level of trust and credibility with key clients, partners, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Improve customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
- Cost Control
- Maximize efficiency and productivity through process analysis and collaboration.
- Manage budgets and create forecasts for future expenditures
- Negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors to obtain better rates for products/services
- Direct preparation of and review project construction execution plans to minimize cost and duration of construction activities
- Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity
- Responsible for adherence to financial budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness
- Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated
- Compliance Construction
- Oversee and manage field training and safety programs
- Perform technical field consultation with project managers and the bidding department
- Review contracts for approval and ensure adherence
- Analyze data to see trends and identify problems in processes/training
- Work with safety teams to improve or create new policies and processes
- Adhere to the company’s policies and standards, and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed
- Ensure that all projects meet client quality standards
- Review complex project requirements and lead post-mortem reviews
- LMA (Lead, Manage, create Accountability)
- Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
- Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of project managers, warehouse managers, and fleet manager
- Ensure sufficient communication between all levels of the organization
- Ensure that there are written operational policies/procedures in place that they are kept updated and reviewed periodically
- Assist with business development initiatives as needed
- Project a positive image of the organization internally and externally
- Uphold and perpetuate the company mission and values
- On-call 24/7
Qualifications:
- Five or more years in a senior leadership role in a construction industry
- Proven ability to manage and deliver budgeted financial results in a similar role
- Understanding of construction cost models and project cash flow
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines
- Ability to read and understand project drawings and blueprints
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a clean driver’s license to drive company vehicles\
- PMI/PMP certification a plus
- Licensed contractor a plus
Compensation:
- Base salary up to 180k/year
